Reverb infected harmonious harp-guitars mixed with buzzing dual chainsaw attack metal, earthquake tectonic seismic rumbling .50 caliber bass, thunder

Untitled Document
Went to Le Voyeur and saw Scared Little Boy. They really really really rock. I don't have adequate words to describe their strange brand of heavy cool, just go to their website - you'll get it... The Smoking Chickens also rocked. Gingervitus rocked more loudly than I like, so I escaped - the place got really crowded for them, so a lot of people do like their loudness, and probably the rest of what they do too....

douglas allen luda moon Musiq & Jordan Emily's open mic last Sunday night

Last Sunday night I went to Fertile Ground for a little while and got Doug's new CD he dedicated to his new daughter. I would have liked to stay and hear him play, but I had told someone I would meet them at Jordan Emily's, so did not stay. For those who don't know Doug, I know him mainly from his playing with Jake Wolf and running reggae roller skating at Skateland for a long time. He is way cool. I think he went to school in California at the Ali Akbar school for sitar & tabla... the disc is really good. I've been enjoying it a lot.
The open mic at Jordan Emily's was full of passionate people presenting art relevant to my thought process of the day. It always seems to be that way somehow. Nice.

New Death Show show, and a phat jam at Twinkle's house

So last night, I went bowling. Actually knocked all the pins down a few times- was fun. After the bowling,
I was convinced that going down town was a pretty decent idea.
Figured would check out the bands playing at Le Voyeur.
I got there in time to hear New Death Show - Drums, guitar, vocals, and some keyboard/samples - they were good. I would go listen to them knowing what they sound like. The delay/sample/keyboard tracks, and the timing, precision, and passion combined for a beautiful layered sound. The first bunch of songs made me happy and bouncing my head around a bit, and swaying. Then there was a song that while technically excellent, made me sad, and I didn't feel like being sad, so I went over to the Eastside for a bit, and then came back and chatted with Kevin from 7 Candles in that spot between the bathrooms and the bar where you can hear the band and it isn't too loud to have a conversation. After a bit it started sounding like the band was wrapping up. I went outside and got my guitar out and sat playing near the artisian well for a while until my friends came along and we went to Twinkle's house where there was a most excellent drum circle/jam. After a few hours, gave mandolin James a lift where he was headed, and headed home. Rock on.

Went to A-Kamp's practice and got some more A-Kamp cds! Yeah!

Lars wrote me that he had a couple more live A-Kamp cds he burned, and that I should stop by and pick them up. Nice! So I stopped by and they were jamming rocking band practice at their Crystal Rock Liberty Gas Station Recording Studio pimp player G-Lair. It rocked too much to bang on the door and interrupt em when I got there, so I danced outside until they finished the song, and then banged on the door. They let me in, and boy was I fired up - A-Kamp band practice, Yeah! They played a buncha stuff including the Olymusic.com song, that is so sweet - I'm gonna ask em if I can post it somewhere on this website - and a new song about smoking that has a nifty high pitched chorus... I put the cd's on the computer at work today and played my co-workers the Oly Music dot com song - they were impressed - i am too!
Yar! a cd from the Rang Dong! and a cd from the Capital Theater! yar! Thank you A-Kamp!

A-Kamp, Flowmotion & Les Purce at Tugboat's Thursday.

Went to the show at Tugboat Annie's Thursday night. Got there too late to hear Les, which is too bad since the folks who heard him said he was good. Caught all of the A-Kamp set. Liked Tommy's antics with rapping into a telephone, and some really sick fast metal riffs thrown in. Flowmotion was awesome, with two drummers, two apple g4's controlling the 2 projectors projecting acid trip melting lights, rather like the visualizations in a good media player, but all over the walls and the band and the people dancing. They opened with a really rollicking Shady Grove, and kept everybody bouncing the night away. Good parties were attended after the show. The color orange will be remembered.
