ran OlyMusic.com from 2002-2008, and blogged about musical experiences in and around Olympia, WA.
So last night I went to Le Voyeur and heard
Pizza T solo and
Bad Dudes, from L.A. Pizza T solo was sweet. He started off with a song about how everything has been lame since 9/11, covered Tupac, Coopers Glen, CG2, told everyone they can suck his nuts etc, and generally everyone present seemed to enjoy his antics very much. I was entertained, and moved to tap my feet to the beat and get up to twitch while standing. Bad Dudes seriously rocked it terrifically. They are playing another show tomorrow night, at Phoenix house on the west side. I don't care what anybody says, I'm a goin'! There have been lots of other good things happening. Rotcod Zzaj added a bunch of bands and a link to an
IMPROVIJAZZATION NATION 'zine, I'll try and remember to go back through and put a link to them all when I'm not in any kind of hurry. Heard
ONU again at Le Voyeur and some other terrific stuff, like Yes Yes downtown looks to be a terrific new venue for all ages shows. That's it for now. Gotta jet. Love ya Olympia!
Right now I'm working on a flyer for the
OlyHempfest Benefit August 10th
at The Olympia Eagles Hall

Locust Street Taxi
Caught Locust Street Taxi at the Matrix on July 22nd, and it was very enjoyable. A few new songs I hadn't heard. I got their new taxi-cab yellow CD and a Locust Street Taxi flying disc that folds up into pocket. Their dynamic is as good as ever, and these guys are definitely seasoned entertainers with the touring schedule they've been maintaining.
