Couldn't sleep just now, and remembered that I had been meaning to write about the 10 minutes I spent at Java Flow between when my bus got to downtown, and continued across town on new year's eve. Dylan and the Furniture was playing, and I caught the last 2 songs of their set. Their sound was really tight instrumentwise, and I think they must practice a lot because the interplay between all the instruments was right on. I found myself wishing the vocals were mixed higher so that I could have a better chance of figuring out what the lead vocalist was singing about, but I think they might be classified as loud punk rock or something like that, and as such, I'm not sure that I would be supposed to understand any of the lyrics of a song the first time I hear it. Anyhow, it got my head boppin a bit, and I definitely enjoyed the way the sounds of all the instruments wove together and played off each other. Thanks for playing music guys!
